Mission
Our mission is to prepare young people through holistic programs to be leaders for the purpose of empowering their communities.
Beliefs
From a broad spectrum, we strongly believe that all youth should be paired with a mentor. Youth live in a world full of wonderful opportunities; the goal is to give them proper guidance to obtain them. Not only youth with behavioral or academic issues should be of concern, but even youth who are doing well should be equally involved with a Mentor. The need of leadership development is essential for every youth, despite their background.

| To build strong relationships with local recreational centers, schools, and churches to develop partner sites within the community striving towards a joint effort in fulfilling the mission and vision of SHIELD. |
To provide intense training for volunteers to increase their knowledge of the mission and goals as well as their ability to relate with youth.

To offer customized programming to fit the current needs of today's youth.
