Meet Our Founders
Precious McKoy, Executive Director, is the visionary of the SHIELD Mentor Program (SHIELD) and co-founded the organization in January 2008 with her husband Antonio McKoy, Community Outreach
Liaison. This dynamic couple believe that a community of people who genuinely
care about our youth will impact society in a great way. They also believe
that providing youth with community role models serving as Mentors will
replace the lost of positive role models in the lives of youth and shape their
behavior at home, at school, and in their personal lives.
Precious and Antonio have
dedicated their lives to the concerns of youth, specifically pre-teens
and teenagers in middle and high school, whom they feel are commonly
overlooked. They value youths' leadership capabilities and desire to
groom them for success as future leaders of the world. A saying they
commonly use is that, "youth don't wait to get older, nor do they wait
to make the decisions that will impact their life into
adulthood." Their approach is to impact youth one decision at a time,
to shape youths' character and to guide them toward positive behaviors.

Precious are highly
