Welcome to SHIELD Mentor Program, an all-volunteer organization working to Mentor Youth

 About SHIELD

Method of mentoring: Self-directed with monthly guided social activities

 

Frequency & time of mentoring: Every 3rd Friday (6:30pm – 8:30pm) and 3rd Saturday (10:00am – 12:00pm) of each month, and weekly email “check-ins.”  It is possible to plan in school mentoring, if approved by the program director.

 

Age of youth participants: Middle and High School Youth (12-18 years of age)

 

Meeting locations: Peeler Recreation Center and McGirt Horton Library (Click here to Start a Partner Site)

 

Training: Pre-program orientation and in-service trainings


Type(s)/Focus of mentoring provided: Group mentoring, peer mentoring, online mentoring, educational improvement, personal growth and development, career development.


Costs: There are no costs this year to participants accepted into the program.
